The Book Broker, an Evansville store that has operated since 1975, is closed for now, and its future is unclear.
Teresa Stillabower, wife of owner Tom Stillabower, shared the update on social media. An earlier post saying the store was closing for good was removed, and the new post said the store is closed for now, adding, in her words, who knows what the future holds.
She said Tom Stillabower has been ill and described him as the backbone and brains of the store. She cited legal and financial problems as reasons for the closure and thanked customers for their patronage and support.
The Book Broker, on Covert Avenue, buys and sells books, music, sports memorabilia, comics, tournament cards and games, and has been a fixture in Evansville for more than 50 years.
