Fort Wayne police were called to a reported stabbing in the 2500 block of Barr Street, south of downtown, at about 11:48 p.m. on Friday.
Officers found an adult man on the front porch of a home with apparent stab wounds. He received first aid at the scene, was taken to a local hospital by medics, and was later pronounced dead there.
Police say early information points to some kind of disturbance before the man was injured. Detectives have been interviewing witnesses and looking for surveillance video to piece together what happened.
The department's homicide unit has arrested Nyeauhnna Jones, 26, and taken her to the Allen County Jail on a charge of murder. The charge is an allegation and has not been proven in court.
The Allen County Coroner's Office will release the man's name and the cause and manner of death at a later date. The case remains under investigation by Fort Wayne police, the Allen County Prosecutor's Office and the coroner's office, and anyone with information can contact police or Crime Stoppers.
