The City of La Porte is reminding residents that its annual leaf pickup is about to begin.
Street crews will start their first pass on Monday, Nov. 9. Once crews have worked their way around the city, they will begin the second pass immediately afterward, the city said in a Facebook post reported by WIMS.
For homes on streets with a curb, residents should put leaf piles on the street. For streets without a curb, piles should go on the grass close to the street. Homes next to the construction on Indiana Avenue should place leaves in brown paper bags or large trash bags so crews can pick them up and carry them.
The city asks residents to put nothing other than leaves in the piles and not to park cars on top of them. The city said it will share updates on where crews are working once the first pass begins.
