The Indiana Department of Transportation says its contractor, Milestone Contractors LP, will have overnight lane closures on Interstate 94 between State Road 49 and U.S. 421 starting on or after Monday, Oct. 26.
I-94 will be reduced to one lane through the U.S. 421 interchange, with eastbound closures scheduled for Monday night and westbound closures scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27. The closures run from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and are meant to shift traffic into a new configuration in the outside lanes so work can move to the inside lanes in the next phase. Intermittent ramp closures at the interchange will also occur overnight while barrier wall is moved into place.
I-94 will also have overnight lane closures for four nights starting on or after Monday, Oct. 26, through the work zone between mile markers 29 and 34, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., to restripe pavement markings.
The construction contract runs over two years through 2027 and includes five projects. INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time through the area, slow down, use caution and drive without distractions in work zones.
