Two Lake Station men have been arrested after a Saturday afternoon disturbance in Valparaiso left a third man hospitalized, according to Valparaiso police.
Police were called to the 1200 block of Chicago Street about 3:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of an ongoing disturbance at a residence, Capt. E.J. Hall said in a release.
When officers arrived, they found an injured man bleeding from a cut to the right side of his chest. He was taken to a local trauma center by medical helicopter.
Hall said Monday that the victim is stable and expected to make a full recovery.
Police arrested Tavaurus Downs, 19, and Dexter Nalls, 27, both of Lake Station. Downs was charged with battery resulting in serious bodily injury and Nalls was charged with battery, police said. Both were taken to the Porter County Jail. Those charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
Hall said the investigation is ongoing and that, as of Monday, there was nothing new on possible additional charges.
