Bombardier announced on Friday that it will open a new service center in Fort Wayne in November, part of a broader expansion of the business-jet maker's footprint across the United States.
The Fort Wayne facility covers roughly 64,500 square feet and is expected to accommodate up to six business jets at a time for routine maintenance, avionics installations and emergency repair support.
The opening is one piece of a first phase of infrastructure investment the company estimates at $270 million, spanning projects in Indiana, Texas, Kansas and Connecticut.
Bombardier says it plans to hire 800 people across the country. It is actively recruiting for about 500 positions now, with roughly 300 additional jobs expected to come through the expansion projects, including work tied to the Indiana site.
Company president and CEO Eric Martel said the American service network is a key pillar of Bombardier's growth strategy and described the new hiring as a sign of long-term confidence in the U.S. market.
Bombardier says it spent $2.8 billion across its U.S. supply chain in 2025 and expects its operations to support more than 33,000 direct and indirect American jobs once the new hiring is complete.
