About 8,500 people have already voted early at the Rousseau Centre in Fort Wayne, according to Allen County Election Board Director Amy Scrogham. That total is double what the county recorded in 2022.
Scrogham said the centre is averaging around 600 voters a day. Voting expanded on Saturday, Oct. 24, when the Ivy Tech Coliseum Campus joined the Rousseau Centre from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
From Monday through Friday, Oct. 26-30, seven locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Christ's Community Church, Firehouse Reception Hall, Grace Point Church, Ivy Tech Coliseum Campus, the Public Safety Academy, Resurrection Lutheran Church and the Rousseau Centre. The same sites will be open Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The final early-voting session is Monday, Nov. 2, at the Rousseau Centre from 8 a.m. to noon. Scrogham urged voters to review the ballot ahead of time, noting it includes three public questions she described as lengthy, including questions she mentioned about a casino and bail.
Election Day is Nov. 3, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
