A newly released affidavit is shedding more light on the weekend murder investigation in Posey County, where Chasity Harnishfeger was found dead inside a home in Stewartsville and her husband remains the subject of a search.
According to the court documents, the couple's daughter called deputies when she could not get hold of Paul and Chasity Harnishfeger. The Life360 app showed both of their phones were at home, and deputies found the phones in the kitchen. Some blood was on Paul's phone.
Chasity's body was found in her bedroom. A red Dodge Dart was missing from the property.
The affidavit also says that a week before the killing, Paul allegedly threatened to kill Chasity, another man and himself if he ever discovered she was cheating. Those statements are allegations in court documents and have not been proven in court.
Formal murder charges were filed earlier this week against 54-year-old Paul D. Harnishfeger Sr., and a judge set a $1 million cash bond. Authorities say he is considered armed and dangerous and are still looking for him, and anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Posey County Regional Dispatch Center at 812-838-1320.
