Governor Mike Braun has presented nearly $110 million in state matching funds to help cities, towns and counties across Indiana pay for local road and bridge improvements.

The $109.9 million comes through the Indiana Department of Transportation's Community Crossings Matching Grant program and will go to 346 cities, towns and counties. Braun announced the awards on Wednesday in Kokomo, following applications communities submitted in September for the fiscal year 2027 grant cycle.

The program helps local governments pay for infrastructure projects, with the state covering a portion of the cost and local governments providing matching funds. State officials say the money comes from Indiana's local road and bridge matching grant funds.

Awards in southern Indiana included $297,368 for Daviess County and $344,980 for the City of Washington, $242,120 for Knox County and $210,911 for Vincennes, $322,450 for Greene County and $331,577 for Linton, and $256,119 for Pike County and $244,220 for Petersburg. Martin County received $163,320.

"Good roads and bridges are essential to strong communities and a growing economy," Braun said.
