More than 4,300 people across Northwest Indiana were without power on Friday night, Oct. 16, according to NWI Times reporting, with Portage and Munster among the communities named in the coverage.
A later update from the same newspaper put the number of people in Northwest Indiana still without power at nearly 1,000, following strong winds in the region.
The two updates show most of the Friday night outages had been cleared by the later report, while hundreds of customers in the region were still waiting for power to return.
