The Fort Wayne Komets open their season on Saturday, and the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum is marking the night with new food and drink options around the concourse, along with updates to existing stands.

The headline addition is Tenders, Love and Chicken, known as TLC, a chicken-tender stand offering seven sauces. It sits on the 200-level concourse, in the space formerly held by Barbeque 58, and it carries the building's first self-serve checkout kiosk, meant to keep lines moving faster.

Nathan Dennison, the Coliseum's vice president of sales, said chicken tenders and fries have long been among the building's best sellers, and that staff are excited to bring the new brand in after trying different suppliers in recent years.

Coliseum staff expect many of the new options to stay available beyond hockey, for concerts and family shows as well.
